Teradata Rolls Out New Solutions To Better Manage Data Resources

Analytics data solutions provider Teradata recently announced its new Teradata Aster MapReduce Platform to offer an easier way to combine data and business;Teradata Database 14, designed to combat the challenges IT faces based on amount of available data; and Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance 2690, the fifth generation of warehouse appliance.  The Teradata Aster MapReduce Platform combines MapReduce with Structured Query Language (SQL) and includes Aster Database 5.0 which makes it easier for retail executives to see, explore and understand multi-structured data while extending deployment options beyond software-only and Cloud. Enterprises utilizing Teradata Database 14 have the ability to deploy their data warehouses more quickly, delivering business value for analytics users. “While most of the attention, naturally, gets focused on a new database’s raw performance improvements, more often than not it’s the improvements to a system’s overall performance and manageability that makes the information technology world better on a daily basis,” said Neil Raden, VP and Principal Analyst of Constellation Research in a press release. “What matters most is that the database continuously achieves its objectives. Teradata continues to lead in both manageability and informing and activating business decisions.”Available in Q1 of 2012, the new Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance is said to deliver double the performance and triple the data capacity of its predecessor.
