Amazon is the number one U.S.-based e-Commerce retailer for international shoppers, as it is for U.S. consumers, but after Amazon, international buyers gravitate more toward specialty stores and retailers of children’s products than U.S. online shoppers do.
The U.S. sites that ranked second, third and fourth for the international market were Ralph Lauren, Gap and Carter’s, according to the 2017 list of the 20 Most Popular U.S. Websites Among International Consumers released by MyUS, a logistics company that helps international consumers shop U.S. online stores. The rankings are based on export and shipping data from more than 400,000 MyUS members worldwide.
Sites that sell children’s products are particularly popular with non-U.S. buyers, including Carter’s, OshKosh B’Gosh, The Disney Store, Funko, Gymboree, Toys ‘R’ Us and The Children’s Place. None of these brands show up among eMarketer’s largest 30 online retailers. In fact, Funko, Gymboree, Toys ‘R’ Us and The Children’s Place are new additions to MyUS’s 2018 list.

The stores seeing the most growth among international consumers include J.Crew, which moved up from the number 18 spot last year to 13th this year; 6PM, which went from number 11 to number seven, and OshKosh B’Gosh, which shot up from 16th to sixth.
“The middle class is expanding in many parts of the world,” said Ramesh Bulusu, CEO of MyUS in a statement. “Now that people have more spending cash, many are eager to welcome more recognizable brands into their homes. The majority of those established brands are based in the USA.”
