Leiszler Oil, which operates 16 Short Stop convenience stores in Kansas, has invested in Toshiba IP video surveillance to protect employees and customers, as well as mitigate product theft.
Although Short Stop had other camera systems installed in all stores during the past decade, the company was not satisfied with the functionality. The old system presented issues with connectivity, picture clarity and lack of remote video availability. The disappointment led Leiszler Oil to make the switch to Toshiba technology.
The company purchased Toshiba IK-WB70A bullet cameras, IK-WB80A cameras and IK-WD01A cameras and installed them in every store. In total, 500 cameras are now remotely monitored from the Leiszler Oil headquarters, allowing live and recorded images to be captured 24 hours a day.

The centerpiece of each store installation is a Toshiba NVS network video recorder, which is pre-loaded with Toshiba VMS Video Management Software. The NVS is a single-box network solution capable of recording at speeds of up to 30 pictures-per-second with audio.
