Leroy Merlin, a home improvement and do-it-yourself (DIY) retailer in France, will implement the electronic shelf label (ESL) system from Pricer in all 121 stores by the end of 2015. The chain-wide rollout will cost more than $20 million.
Because home improvement businesses typically house thousands of products in large depots, the process of manually adjusting prices can quickly become a tedious, time-consuming chore for employees. The ESL platform will allow Leroy Merlin to digitally adjust item prices in real time.
The Pricer ESL platform will be installed in 35 Leroy Merlin stores during 2014, and the remaining stores will be updated through 2015.
