Campus Colors, a collegiate sportswear retailer, recently announced a collaboration with Ability Commerce, an e-Commerce developer, to implement a managed service model for the retailer’s Amazon storefront. After partnering with Ability Commerce in fall 2011, Campus Colors saw a year-over-year monthly sales gain of up to 200% for products sold through the Amazon marketplace. Approximately 15% of Campus Colors’ revenue is generated through the Amazon site.
Jon Rubenstein, VP of Campus Colors, said he is optimistic about the growth potential of the company’s online business, and that “Ability Commerce will play a vital role in this success as we will rely on its marketing capabilities to drive our growth.”
Ability Commerce is responsible for all Campus Colors online marketing efforts, technical support and programming of the Amazon storefront. Previously Campus Colors maintained all of its e-Commerce systems in-house, employing extra help during each busy fourth quarter. Today, Rubenstein noted, employees can focus more intensely on helping customers find the right products and on achieving the brand’s business goals.
