7-Eleven Will Host Second Annual Event For Emerging Brands

7-Eleven is hosting its second annual event for 65 emerging brands to make their case about why they deserve a spot on the convenience store’s shelves. The Brands with Heart event will take place at the 7-Eleven Store Support Center in Irving, Texas Oct. 22-23. Brands can apply before Sept. 20 for the chance to showcase their most innovative products.

The winning items from last year’s event already have hit store shelves in select Los Angeles locations, according to Chris Harkness, VP of Merchandising at 7-Eleven. Through the event, 7-Eleven has an opportunity to expand its offerings and partner with up-and-comers seeking exposure to a larger audience.

“Last year’s event drew hundreds of applicants, 70 of which our team had the pleasure of learning more about,” said Harkness in a statement. “We look forward to the same successful turnout this year. We’re always striving to meet our customers where they are and provide them with the products they need for their busy lives. This event allows us to expand our offerings and find new ways to make our customers’ experience with the brand even stronger.”

The Brands with Heart event incorporates workshops, an expo and keynote sessions, with speakers including Jack Stout, Chief Merchandising Officer at 7-Eleven, and Lance Collins, Founder of Fuze, Body Armor, Core and A Shoc. The two-day event will close with an informal networking session where entrepreneurs can exchange ideas with the 7-Eleven merchandising team.
