Mosaic, a marketing agency with a focus on retail clients, has acquired data-driven content producer Contend for an undisclosed sum. With the acquisition, Mosaic can leverage the Contend suite to offer retailers access to proprietary data, creative services, content production and omnichannel media distribution.
The combined companies will develop the “Contender” platform, a proprietary content intelligence tool that is designed to map and understand audiences and the stories that inspire and engage them. Contend also is developing digital warehousing services designed to greatly improve the efficiency and time to market for branded content.
“With Contend as the content arm of Mosaic, we now offer our clients an alternative to the traditional, inefficient way of creating and distributing video content that is required by marketers 24/7,” said Kevin George, President and CMO of Mosaic in a statement. “The ability to efficiently create, produce, warehouse and deploy high quality video content for brands, with sales as the ultimate success factor, is what today’s brands are seeking.”
