3 Keys To Bridging The Millennial Communication Gap

Nearly half (45%) of the 18- to 24-year-olds in the U.S. workforce work in retail or hospitality jobs. To keep these Millennials engaged, employers should take note of three communications rules:

  1. Go mobile: While only 17% of corporate emails are ever opened, 83% of Millennials open text messages within 90 seconds;
  2. Make communications engaging: Actively gather employee feedback and use gamification to motivate participation; and
  3. Keep it short: The average Millennial reads only 60 words before losing interest (so they never would have gotten to this bullet point in the article). Daily communications should be equivalent to two to three tweets’ worth of content, according to this infographic from Nudge Rewards.
