PTC, a computer software and services company, has released version 11.2 of FlexPLM, a product lifecycle management platform designed for the retail industry. The latest update adds new functionality and user experience enhancements to improve retailers’ management of the development process.
One of this version’s new features is the PTC FlexPLM samples console. This is a dedicated module designed to provide clarity, visibility and control to product developers and technical designers who manage multiple iterations of the product sampling process across multiple seasons. This can require managing several hundred samples at any given point in time, and the tool is designed to simplify the process.
The console allows all information pertaining to a sample to be viewed, filtered and maintained through a unified user interface. This means attributes from season to colorway and specification to source can be monitored, updated and edited in a single location, which can help retailers track products’ progress throughout development.
Additionally, the samples console aims to provide closer collaboration with factory partners by giving everyone from product development to suppliers the ability to track any product’s ready-to-buy status.
