Indyme, a shopper engagement and loss prevention solution provider, has introduced SmartDome, a device designed to help heighten awareness of social distancing in real time. The tool looks like a standard domed security camera, but upon detecting people in its monitored area it announces messages that can be tailored to encourage shoppers to keep their distance from each other.
The tool is battery-operated, letting stores install it without needing to connect it to power. Its mounting options are designed to work in a variety of areas, including checkouts, service counters, entrances and specific departments.
Once the pandemic ends, the SmartDome can be repurposed to deliver other messages. These capabilities are designed to help reduce theft and increase customer engagement during standard operations.
