Foot Locker has opened its first standalone Kids Foot Locker “Reimagined” store at the Bay Plaza Shopping Center in the heart of the Bronx in New York City.
The new store follows on the opening of four full-line Reimagined locations in 2024, which feature a refreshed design concept focused on immersive experiences and brand storytelling.

Spanning more than 3,300 square feet, the Bronx store is 60% larger than the average Kids Foot Locker and is designed to immerse younger generations in sneaker culture. It draws on elements of the Reimagined store concept on display at 34th Street in Midtown Manhattan, but it keeps the young sneakerhead in mind to offer an intuitive, family-friendly shopping experience. For example, the store is merchandised by brand, size and age group to simplify discovery for kids and their parents.
The Bay Plaza store also features a number of experiential activations that are making an appearance for the first time in a Kids Foot Locker, including:

- The Kick it Club: A communal try-on area where young shoppers can come together to test out and get feedback on new styles. Some of the fixtures from traditional Foot Lockers have been brought down in height and scale in this area to make them proportional for smaller shoppers, and the area also featuresan activity table;
- The Drop Zone: A specialized area showcasing new and upcoming sneaker releases;
- An “Omni-Hub”: A dedicated space to assist in the order process and sneaker customization with items such as laces, no-tie laces and other accessories;
- A basketball wall featuring signature athletic products from top brands including Nike, Jordan Brand and Adidas;
- An active lifestyle wall showcasing running brands for young shoppers, including On, Hoka, Saucony and Asics; and
- Digital sizing assistance with an interactive custom shoe scan that is guided by a digital Striper (Foot Locker associate) to help kids achieve a precise fit.
The new Reimagined store concept is part of Foot Locker’s larger transformation strategy launched in March 2023. The first Reimagined store debuted in Willowbrook, N.J. in April 2024, with elements of the design set to be incorporated across the chain as the company refreshes the majority of its store fleet over the next few years.
