Commerce Signals, a source for consumer spending insights, has launched the Commerce Signals Merchant Tracker, a solution that can help businesses understand where consumers are spending and how their own sales compare to other merchants. The tool can benchmark sales and market share versus other named merchants at a county level, and break out spending trends between online and in-store sales.
Commerce Signals Merchant Tracker lets retailers access weekly views of purchases, returns, average ticket and market share from an intuitive online dashboard. A data cube is also available for custom analysis. The goal of these capabilities is to help retailers compare consumer spending at other merchants both within and outside of their key categories in order to improve strategic and reactive planning.
The Merchant Tracker is powered by Commerce Signals’ anonymized consumer credit and debit card spending dataset, which includes transactions from more than 40 million U.S. households. The data is balanced for the total U.S. population by geography and other proprietary metrics.
