Three out of five Gen Zers search for beauty product information on TikTok, while long-time favorite Google gets two-thirds of searches by members of Gen X. For the millennials sandwiched between these demographic groups, 50% search on Google, YouTube and Instagram for information, inspiration and advice about cosmetics, skincare and hair care products, according to a survey by digital content agency Greenpark.
The survey also revealed that 10% of respondents are trying AI chatbots such as ChatGPT for beauty-related searches, with men, at 15%, more likely than women, at 6%, to test this newer technology.
