Half Of Retailers Struggle To Optimize Merchandising Tools

Up to 90% of retailers recognize that merchandising tools and techniques — such as retail forecasting and unified price modeling — are important to their businesses, according to a survey from Retail Systems Research (RSR).

However, many retailers are struggling to determine how to select, implement and leverage these tools effectively to improve business results.

In fact, half or fewer retailers are familiar with merchandising tools and techniques, such as:

  • Forecasting (52%);
  • Assortment optimization (45%); and
  • Integrated merchandise planning allocation and replenishment (45%).
