There’s been a strong movement supporting the idea of shopping local, and the good news is that consumers are receptive to the idea. In fact, 59% of shoppers said they would prefer to buy from a small business instead of a large corporation. Here are a few reasons why:
- 57% of shoppers said keeping money local was a primary driver for shopping small and indeed, 48 cents of every dollar spent at a small business recirculates in the local community;
- 28% of shoppers say they get better customer service at small businesses; and
- 75% of small businesses support charities, something that is increasingly appealing to a growing base of conscious consumers.
