Digital Commerce Revenue Climbs 26% On Turkey Day 2016

Between stuffing turkeys, stuffing their faces and watching football, lots of people found time to shop online this Thanksgiving Day. Digital revenue climbed an impressive 26% in 2016 compared to the previous year, outpacing the 22% growth in digital traffic. As expected, mobile devices were popular, accounting for 56% of digital traffic and 37% of orders.

Sephora broke into the Top 5 most-mentioned retailers on social media, in large part due to its Black Friday sale, while REI was squeezed out of the Top 10. Free shipping remains the standard for digital commerce: 83% of orders were shipped at no charge, according to this infographic from Salesforce
