Nordstrom Hires Former Amazon Exec To Lead Technology Team

Nordstrom has appointed former Amazon exec Kumar Srinivasan as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Srinivasan will be leading the next phase of innovation and growth in shaping the technology agenda across Nordstrom.

As CTO, Srinivasan will help optimize engineering and software productivity and effectiveness across Nordstrom’s four Technology teams, supporting initiatives such as service & experience, loyalty & marketing, engineering and supply chain. 

The news come a few weeks after Nordstrom announced it will be laying off approximately 120 employees on its technology team.

“We’re bringing Kumar to Nordstrom at an important time as we are positioning our Technology organization to better support our long-term growth plans,” said Dan Little, CIO of Nordstrom, Inc., in a statement. “Kumar’s extensive experience in strategy, product development and delivering technology solutions that support a great user experience, as well as his passion for the customer, will be invaluable.”

Srinivasan’s previous roles include Co-Founder and CEO of Evocalize, Chief Products and Technology Officer of Bazaarvoice, and VP, General Manager of Amazon.
