JDA Software Group has acquired AI solutions provider Blue Yonder for an undisclosed sum. With the acquisition, JDA seeks to further integrate intelligent data and insights to enable more profitable, autonomous supply chain decisions, according to a company statement.
The Blue Yonder platform is designed to enable companies to transform their core processes, automating complex decisions that deliver higher profits and customer value using AI/machine learning algorithms.
JDA will tap into Blue Yonder’s data science capabilities to embed new levels of actionable intelligence across all areas of its SaaS solution roadmap and creating significant value realizations for customers. Blue Yonder’s machine learning capabilities will offer opportunities for JDA’s retail customers to improve their pricing, promotions, markdowns and replenishment capabilities.

Blue Yonder’s founder, Michael Feindt, will provide ongoing thought and innovation leadership to both companies while its CEO, Uwe Weiss, will join JDA’s Operating Committee. The acquisition is subject to competition agency approval.
