Additionally, one of the show’s networking highlights, The Retail Town Hall, will give attendees the opportunity to hear — directly from the retailers — the challenges, opportunities and hot buttons currently filling the daily agendas of retail executives. Retail design, store planning and visual merchandising executives from some of the world’s leading chains, from department stores to supermarkets to luxury and discount, will come together to discuss how current retail trends are affecting their market and impacting their design, merchandising and purchasing decisions.

Retail Product Announcements
Among the relevant retail announcements, Lawrence Metal Products, part of the Tensator Group and provider of queue management products, will unveil the latest version of its SLQ3000 single line Electronic Call Forward (ECF) and In-Queue merchandising systems to the U.S market. The SLQ3000 ECF system includes the standard features Lawrence has developed featuring single-line electronic call forward technology, and new features allow for wireless installation of Positional Display Units (PDU). The company’s latest technological offering, InQ-tv, also will be previewed at the booth for the first time in the United States, with a full rollout expected to the market later this year. InQ-tv is designed to allow retailers to introduce engaging media into the queue and directly target waiting customers.

For retailers looking to implement in-store digital media, or those re-evaluating their current strategy, Reflect Systems, a provider of in-store digital media solutions, released a “quick tips” list prior to the event. Reflect recently launched Audience TouchPoint, a solution designed to increase product engagement and interaction, as an addition to its ReflectView software suite. Audience TouchPoint supports assisted shopping features, such as product information videos and side-by-side product comparisons, triggered by customers’ physical product interaction and/or touchscreen activity.

Prysm will showcase a new display platform, powered by its Laser Phosphor Display (LPD) technology, designed to deliver life-like, life-size video that can be organized into a display of any size and shape. The company will also display its Digital Mannequin, a seven-foot display aimed at helping retailers deliver unique product content, to offer an engaging and immersive brand experience. Prysm’s Digital Mannequin was recently deployed in American Eagle’s flagship store in the heart of Manhattan’s SoHo district.

“We’re excited to demo our dynamic, life-size Digital Kiosk and Digital Mannequin at GlobalShop,” said Dana Corey, VP of Global Sales and Service at Prysm. “At the Prysm booth, attendees can experience first-hand Prysm’s unique and powerful display solutions, which deliver a more engaging and immersive brand experience for customers and in turn, increase foot traffic and sales for retailers.”

A.R.E. Design Awards
The best in store design and visual presentation will be honored during the A.R.E (Association for Retail Environments) Design Awards at The Venetian. Awards will be presented for outstanding performance with awards including the Store of the Year, Fixture of the Year, Visual Presentation of the Year and the A.R.E. Sustainability Award. In addition, winners of the PAVE the Way 3D Design Challenge for student designers and the DDI Best Booth Awards for exhibitors will be unveiled. Winning retailers include Levi’s Flagship Store, Starbucks Coffee and Bloomingdales, among others.

GlobalShop will close with its “Retail Inspirations Tour,” which offers a behind-the-scenes look into the Retail World of Vegas. The tour will stop at the second largest Forever 21 store at the Fashion Show Mall; H&M’s largest store at the Forum Shops at Ceasars; and the retail stores at MGM, including Ferrari, Harley-Davidson and Hearts on Fire. Expert tour leaders, Brian Dyches and Jude Elledge from Trend Habitat, also will share insights on store layouts, presentation, consumer experience and new retail technologies.
