Starbucks Debuts Prepaid Visa: Starbucks has partnered with JP Morgan Chase to launch a prepaid Visa card that allows customers to earn Starbucks rewards points every time they make a purchase with the card, even if they’re not at a Starbucks location. The Starbucks Rewards Prepaid Card from Chase will be available at the end of 2016 and will work at the majority of retail locations that accept Visa as payment.
Every time customers use the new rewards card, they will automatically earn stars that are directly transferred into their Starbucks accounts. They can then spend those stars at Starbucks stores or online, redeeming them for rewards. Customers can apply for the prepaid card through the Starbucks mobile app or the Starbucks web site.
Hy-Vee Opening Employee Training And Online Fulfillment Center: Iowa-based grocery chain Hy-Vee is transforming a former retail store into a training facility for employees and a fulfillment center for its online grocery ordering program.

Hy-Vee will open Hy-Vee University in the building, where it will offer training in retail services, retail management, business leadership and an advanced masters of retail operations. The education and training center, which is expected to open in late fall, also will include a teaching kitchen and lab area, auditorium and collaboration areas. Hy-Vee will use the training and education center to develop store leaders and managers. Details on the online fulfillment center have yet to be finalized, according to a company spokesperson.
Cabela’s Seeks Out Potential Buyer: The New York Post reports that Cabela’s is serious about tracking down a buyer, with the retailer opening its revealing its financial information to rival Bass Pro Shops and other potential suitors. The hunting and fishing gear retailer said in December it would explore strategic alternatives but had held off distributing confidential financial information to potential buyers until now.
