A common challenge for retailers and big brands is to ensure all franchise locations are consistent in their marketing messages and strategies across all locations.
Placeable, a provider of local marketing automation solutions for enterprises, recently unveiled the NatLo Top 30 to recognize national, multi-location brands that succeed in local marketing.

Best Buy and PetSmart reached the top five in the list of 30 organizations, placing at the four and five spots, respectively.
To finalize the results, Placeable analyzed a variety of data points across millions of retail, banking, restaurant and hospitality locations. Scores (which were on a scale of 0 to 100) were calculated based on:
- Visibility: Overall web site effectiveness in search and discoverability. Site structure, page optimization, web and mobile site performance, and local/geo-related search factors all were included in the evaluation.
- Depth: The detail and accuracy of local content, including: Basic information such as name, address and phone; descriptions of services; photos; and calls-to-action.
- Precision: The geographic accuracy of location data. Placement of pins at each location, as well as overall dispersion of pins on third-party sites were considered.
- Reach: Data consistency across different third-party sites. Presence, detail and accuracy of location data on Google, Facebook, Foursquare and Yelp were considered paramount.
Other retailers that were spotlighted in the list include Office Depot, Walgreens, CVS/pharmacy, Kohl’s and Target.
