COVID-19 Impact: 63% Of U.S. Consumers Expanded Their Online Shopping Lists

U.S. consumers have been significantly more experimental in their e-Commerce buying during the pandemic than online shoppers in the UK. While more than half of consumers in the U.S. (55%) and the UK (53%) boosted the number of items purchased online, 63% of U.S. shoppers branched out into categories they had never ordered digitally before, as compared to 39% of UK shoppers.

Millennials in both countries, not surprisingly, were the most likely to exemplify this trend. Three-quarters of Millennials in the U.S. and 52% in the UK expanded the types of merchandise they purchased online.
