Cost Of Wearables Is Sales Barrier For 63% Of Consumers

Wearable technology with cutting-edge functionalities such as mobile payments, communications and data dissemination could be the next big thing, but at the moment their price tags are simply too high for a majority (63%) of consumers. In addition to cost there’s confusion: 52% of respondents to a survey of 1,000 consumers said they don’t know enough about wearables or understand how they work, according to this infographic from Colloquy.

Wearables do have some fans: 35% of consumers say that while people wearing wearables are nerdy, they are “cool nerdy.” And less than 10% of respondents find wearables either unattractive or uncomfortable.
