Pitney Bowes recently completed a retailer survey to assess customer engagement strategies. “It was shocking — we have always known that retailers are struggling to keep up with the empowered customer,” Topper noted. “When we saw the data we were shocked to see just how big that gap is.” Facebook and Twitter are being used effectively, but Pinterest and YouTube are under-implemented, he added. Location intelligence — geocoding and reverse geocoding — also is an important solution to consider for retailers looking to improve the overall customer experience.
