Lybeer talks about recent consumer research conducted by NCR. “Retailers are going to have to work hard and fast to keep up with consumer demands,” he noted. “I think what retailers are doing are trying very hard to deliver different experiences to consumers… but there needs to be more energy into bringing them together into one consistent experience.” He also discussed differences between retail in the U.S. and other countries. “Europe has been much more aggressive on the mobile front, as well as Asia…and I think Europe and Asia could learn from the U.S. in terms of a focus on in-store capabilities and operations.”
