Peloton’s SVP of Marketing, Communications and Membership Dara Treseder has become the latest executive to depart the retailer as she joins Autodesk in the Chief Marketing Officer role, according to a LinkedIn post. Treseder was with the fitness company as it launched the Bike+, Tread, Guide and Row products andthe company’s member base grew from 2.6 million to nearly 7 million during her tenure.
Her departure comes just two weeks after Co-founder and Executive Chair John Foley and Co-founder and Chief Legal Officer Hisao Kushi announced their own resignations. Foley and Kushi had remained heavily involved with Peloton since they founded the company in 2012 but left as part of an executive shakeup that coincided with efforts to turn the business around through new initiatives.
One recent change was making the Peloton Bike, Guide and select accessories and apparel available for purchase on Amazon in the U.S.. Prior to this partnership, Peloton products were sold exclusively through the brand’s own ecommerce site, internal sales channels and showrooms.
Peloton isn’t the only retailer facing potential shakeups of its leadership as it navigates a turbulent economic climate. Kohl’s is currently combating an activist investor’s calls for the removal of CEO Michelle Gass and Chairman Peter Boneparth, and in March 2022 Dollar Tree “reconstituted” its Board of Directors under the new leadership of former Dollar General CEO Richard Dreiling, who was appointed Executive Chair.
