Who Hits The ‘Buy’ Button Most On Smartphones? Apparel Shoppers

Consumers shopping for clothing online are apparently not deterred by smartphones’ small screens and sometimes clumsy keypads. Among all industries studied, apparel retail took the lead in smartphone conversions during Q1 2017, achieving a 40% rate. The apparel segment also achieved a 51% smartphone conversion rate during Q4 2016, which included holiday sales.

For non-apparel retail, desktops remain the most popular conversion site. In Q1 the large-screen format achieved a 73% rate, compared to only 17% for smartphones and 10% for tablets.

There’s lots of additional information on consumer device preferences and behaviors in this infographic from Movable Ink.
