Popular VR Use Case: Preselect Items For In-Store Try-On

Nearly two thirds (64%) of consumers like the idea of using virtual reality (VR) technology to preselect items to try on in-store. Consumers also showed enthusiasm for other technologies that simplify their shopping experience: 58% like the concept of grocers suggesting a shopping list based on purchase, social and environmental data.

Still, there is still a sharp divide between helpful and overbearing: 54% don’t like the idea of auto-fulfillment with pre-payment based on AI algorithms. Even more consumers, 57%, find apparel recommendations based on their social media profiles “invasive.”
