Personalization Challenges Aren’t Unique to Retail

Personalization pays off but it's sometimes hard for companies to pull off.

Turns out creating personalized customer experiences is hard for everyone — media, entertainment and telecom companies are struggling with many of the same issues as retailers in creating the personalized experiences their customers want.

While 73% of media, entertainment and telecom customers said they expect to be delighted both before and after their purchase, only 18% said these industries are meeting that expectation. The biggest reason these companies are failing to deliver will also likely sound familiar: the challenge of orchestrating systems, processes and people.
