88% Of Consumers Will Pay For Same-Day Delivery

Just over half (51%) of retailers offer same-day delivery, and this figure could rise to as high as 65% in 2019. For retailers worried about covering the costs of this service, there is some good news: a large majority of consumers, 88%, are willing to pay for same-day (or faster) delivery services.

Even retailers that don’t offer same-day delivery can boost the customer experience by improving transparency: Knowing the estimated or guaranteed delivery date is important to nearly two thirds (63%) of online shoppers.

Retailers need to do all they can to ensure that delivery people on the “front lines” are customer-friendly: Nearly 57% of consumers reported that once they’ve experienced unprofessionalism from a delivery person, they are less likely to purchase from the same retailer again.
