40% of Consumers Seeking More Healthy Food Options at Grocery Stores

The stresses of COVID-19 may have pushed some shoppers to gobble down more junk food than is good for them (guilty!), but the pandemic also pushed many consumers toward healthier, more ecologically sustainable options: plant-based food sales increased 27% in 2020, reaching $7 billion.

Consumers have a growing appetite for healthy food: 40% are seeking out more of these options at grocery stores, and 43% bought organic foods or beverages in the past year.
