Headquartered in Montreal, Canada, LightSpeed is a provider of retail tools which are tailored to the Mac platform and designed to help retailers manage business more effectively. The LightSpeed suite of products is delivered through an application programming interface (API) and designed to enable multi-user and multi-store usage.
LightSpeed for iPad offers retailers a “Show and Tell” feature that enables sales reps to use the iPad to share expanded product details and images on a curtained backdrop. Other functionality includes the ability to create new invoices, scan barcodes and add or create customer profiles in real time. Retailers can swipe or manually process credit card payments, accept signatures on-screen and email or wirelessly print receipts. Retailers also can activate or redeem gift cards and perform inventory lookups.
“LightSpeed for iPad has helped us out in a huge way and taken the store to a whole different level,” said Angus McIntosh, Sales Associate at Saturdays Surf NYC, an apparel retailer that caters to a lifestyle occupied with surfing as well as living and working in New York City. “It’s so much easier — we can help our customers anywhere in the store with invoices as well as process credit card payments. With just a few taps on the iPad, we get customers out the door with everything they love, and we know we’ve serviced them well and correctly.”
