FullStory Releases Report Card To Rate Online Shopper Frustration

FullStory has released Rage Grade, a platform that uses machine intelligence to understand in aggregate all the frustration signals generated by online shoppers.

The tool is designed to enable users to identify the “frustration events” their site users endure, and how their users’ frustration levels stack up against others, based on real, actionable intelligence.

Frustration signals may include:

  • Rage Clicks, which are instances when people click multiple times, rapidly in the same area on a site, to try to get the site to respond in the way they want;

  • Error Clicks, which trigger an error on the page;

  • Dead Clicks, which are clicks that have no effect on the page;

  • Form Abandonment; and 

  • Thrashing Mouse, where users move their mouse erratically.

Rage Grades are calculated as a letter grade from A to C-, along with a percentile rank of where a retailer’s online experience falls relative to industry peers.

If a retailer’s grade is an A- or lower, they will receive a list of frustrated session recordings, to watch and understand the sessions that contain the highest levels of frustration.
