Retailers are geared up for this week, ready to embrace holiday shoppers looking for good buys at the right price.
Last week, Barnes and Noble held its Discovery Friday event to help holiday shoppers find the best gifts for their loved ones. But Barnes and Noble isn’t alone. In fact, other retailers are also offering consumers options to find the best deals. Toys “R” Us announced a partnership with Eyeview to drive personalized updates on Black Friday deals and price reductions based on product preferences.

Keeping Social Responsibility Top Of Mind
If you’re looking to connect with brands that give back to the community, look no further. TOMS has announced TOMS Marketplace. Located on the TOMS web site, TOMS Marketplace offers a central location for the socially conscious brands.
According to a recent article on Retail TouchPoints, the TOMS team handpicked through the reviews of the companies’ business practices and their giving philosophes,” Blake Mycoskie told our Senior Editor, Alicia Fiorletta. He added: “We chose companies at all stages, from small start-ups to established organizations, that have the core goal of using business to improve people’s lives. We’re inspired by that and want to see these companies succeed.”
The Store Remains King
While tech-savvy consumers are excited for Cyber Monday, there’s still a significant number of shoppers excited about heading to the stores this holiday: 88% of consumers surveyed in a recent study on holiday shopping behaviors said they will be visiting the physical store this year.
Although most consumers said they would be shopping at brick-and-mortar stores, respondents addressed four major concerns:
– Large crowds (42%);
– Long checkout lines (29%);
– Items being out of stock (15%); and
– Insufficient staffing (7%).
