80% of Online Shopping is on Mobile Devices, but Just 4% of Mobile Transactions are on Native Apps

Nearly 80% of online shopping takes place on a mobile device, so retailers looking to thrive during this online holiday season need to get the experience right. One of the key lessons? Never assume people will use your mobile app: only 4% of mobile commerce transactions actually come from native mobile apps, and 10% of mobile users never update their apps.

Presentation also is vitally important. Retailers have two seconds to engage a shopper from the moment they hit a web site, so imagery should load quickly and in a proper size for mobile screens. Additionally, this content needs to be interesting — 55% of Millennials like surprises and are intrigued by unexpected rewards.
