Starboard Cruise Services, the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton luxury retail-at-sea company, has promoted Sherrie Day to the role of Global Head of Merchandising. Day will report to Lisa Bauer, President and CEO of Starboard.

Day’s responsibilities will include managing Starboard’s merchandising strategy worldwide. She will oversee global buying and work with more than 700 brands. As the merchandising leader for Starboard, Day’s team will create onboard activations with brand partners, which will be aligned with each cruise line’s branding and target guest.

Prior to her promotion, Day was the VP of Merchandising for Starboard and held a number of senior merchandising roles with the company since she was hired as Director of Merchandising in 2019. Day’s experience prior to joining Starboard includes roles with JCPenney and Soma. Day spent more than 18 years at Target where she led buying and merchandising in a number of senior roles.

“Sherrie’s 30 years of retail experience, with a proven track record of custom product development has been instrumental to innovating our offerings,” said Bauer in a statement. “As the Global Head of Merchandising, Sherrie is uniquely positioned to carry out our company purpose to Curate a Vibrant World. Combined with her merchandising expertise, Sherrie’s inspiring leadership contributes greatly to our company culture and will certainly help Starboard continue our position as the industry-leading retailer in cruise.”

Departing from Southampton, UK, the voyage made its way to Western Europe while offering 8,966 square feet of retail space across two decks. Luxury houses such as Cartier, IWC, Panerai and Bulgari had a boutique presence during the voyage, while additional brands such as Stella McCartney, Marni and NORQAIN were featured in shops on the ship.
