Understanding Customer Intent Is Valuable, But Nearly Half Of Retailers Lack Tools To Predict It

Customer data is the cornerstone of the e-Commerce experience: 60% of shoppers visit a site up to four times before making a purchase, and offering better recommendations can lead to more purchases, more quickly. These personalization efforts can be enhanced with an understanding of the customer intent of each trip, but 48% of retailers with $100 million or more in sales don’t predict intent.

Retailers have a wide variety of data sources available: 76% use loyalty programs, 59% draw from their POS and 40% utilize ERP software. However, only 14% of retailers use AI to draw intent data from this information, and just 38% have implemented a rules-based system.

Learn more about how retailers are measuring customer intent and experience in this infographic from Lucidworks.
