Nearly two thirds (63%) of the budget for global digital ad spending goes to mobile today; by 2020, marketers are projected to allot $247.4 billion for advertising on mobile platforms. In-app advertising will claim a large portion of that spend; it’s forecast to reach $201 billion by 2021.
The connection between mobile and social networks is particularly strong: 82% of Twitter users access the platform via mobile devices, compared to 54% for Facebook and 41% for LinkedIn.
