Contactless Payments Speed Checkouts, But Older Shoppers May Balk

Contactless payments are the wave of the future, and they offer benefits to both retailers and their customers. Not only does this technology cut wait times at checkout, it also can be integrated into loyalty programs for seamless payment options and enable other convenient options like mobile wallets.

However, retailers should note the downsides as well. The fact that contactless payments don’t require a signature means these transactions have lower limits (often below $100 each), and despite their growing comfort with technology, older shoppers may be resistant to mobile-based payment options.

Learn more about the contactless payments benefit both customers and retailers in this infographic from Milkwhale.
