Why Online Reviews Work!

By Fatima D. Lora, Assistant Editor

I’ve recently jumped on the online shopping bandwagon and I must admit that Amazon has been a great price comparison site. I originally found a product on the Target web site and I added it to my wishlist just to remind myself to go back and buy it. Originally, I was going to add it to my baby registry, but I felt having someone pay more than $200 for a carseat was a bit too much.

Pricey, yes, but it’s an all-in-one carseat—the only carseat my child will need from birth until he is no longer required to use one.

After reading customer reviews, I knew it was the right carseat. One mother even shared how the carseat saved their child during a car accident. That was a sigh of relief. Being a first-time mom is scary, and you don’t want to make the wrong choices.

I continued searching the Internet for additional reviews — a search that lead me to Amazon. It was the first option on Google and it offered the price without me having to click through the link.

I had received a gift card during the holiday season from a colleague and I had a remaining balance which brought my total to less than $250. I loved the style because it’s unisex—I’m not a fan of using “pink for girls and blue for boys.”

The best part was ordering it on a Friday afternoon and having FedEx show up at my house the next morning when I was supposed to receive it a week later. Can you say great customer service?
