Coupons have been a staple to retailers’ marketing efforts. Whether it’s during annual holidays or to just eliminate excess inventory, coupons help merchants drive in-store traffic and get a quick boost in sales.
With the rise of omnichannel retail, though, consumers want a little something extra. They want personalization and ease of use. That is why we are venturing into the digital coupon era in which retailers are delivering tailored coupons and offers directly to consumers’ smartphones.

To learn more about this trend, Retail TouchPoints collected insights from close to 150 retail executives in a July 2013 survey. Overall, 76% of consumers are storing and redeeming coupons on their smartphones.
