Walmart partners with Alibaba: China has been spotlighted as a key growth area for retailers. Not only do these consumers adopt technology faster, they also have a lot of spending power. Walmart is trying to accelerate growth in the country by implementing Alipay, the mobile payment solution from Alibaba. 

Apple, Microsoft top list of Most Valuable Brands: Forbes mulled through a list of approximately 200 brands and then broke the list down to a fair 100. Forbes ranked these brands by analyzing earnings, brand value, and other factors. Farfetch acquires Browns to drive omnichannel growth: Farfetch, a multibrand fashion eTailer, has acquired London boutique Browns. Although Browns will run independently from the Farfetch business, Farfetch plans to use the store to test new retail technology and omnichannel tactics, before rolling them out to other boutique partners. 

SMB execs go mobile: Approximately 25% of small businesses do more than 50% of their work on a smartphone or tablet, according to a recent survey from LivePerson. Two years ago, only 13% of survey respondents said they did the same amount of work through their mobile devices. Through the survey of 560 companies, LivePerson learned that the top priority for small businesses over the next year is to improve customer experience and support.
