I always find it interesting to see how brands and retailers develop the design concepts and overall layout for their stores. After all, each brand is different, and the design and technology components that resonate with consumers will undoubtedly vary from state to state, and region to region.

But the need to craft creative and memorable store experiences seems to reach new heights during the holidays. It seems as though brands and retailers are always focusing on outdoing each other, and adding more glitz and pizzazz to store windows and displays.

Who could blame them? I know I’m always excited to visit New York City and check out the department store windows down 5th Avenue.

Here’s a cool video from AT&T, which was developing a Magical Forest holiday installation at its flagship store on Michigan Ave. in Chicago. The goal of the design concept was to create an immersive and interactive environment that encourages exploration. Like a fairy tale, the Magical Forest drives customers to discover and explore potential gifts for the holidays.
