Since 2003, online shopping has quadrupled for back-to-school (BTS), according to NRF’s Back-To-School Shopping report. In 2012, most shoppers are using e-Commerce sites to compare prices and find the best value. NRF predicts online shoppers will spend a total of $874 for back-to-school supplies, a 27% increase above the overall shopper average. This infographic highlights the economy, mobile technology and a boost in elementary age children as key drivers of BTS spending.
