ReposiTrak is aiming to help retailers become compliant with the standards of Traceability Rule 204 of the Food Safety Modernization Act Section 204 (FSMA 204), which has sent the final rule to the Office of the Federal Register to be published. The new law will require food retailers and their supply chain partners to provide full, end-to-end traceability.
The ReposiTrak Traceability Network is designed to be set up with no software or hardware to install and no additional labor from traditional label-scanning methods. The network was created to help retailers and suppliers connect to an unlimited number of trading partners and begin sharing data. While there is a flat fee for suppliers, there is no cost to retailers.
The network aims to provide full end-to-end traceability for the 16 of the most vulnerable food categories mandated by the FSMA 204. These items include tomatoes, deli salads, nut butters and leafy greens, with thousands of SKUs within each category.
