As it emerges from bankruptcy, Party City is moving forward with a strategy to transform its business and keep more than 800 of existing stores in operation. Part of that transformation has included the implementation of supply chain solution TradeBeyond, which is helping Party City improve efficiencies across inventory management, end-to-end merchandising and vendor compliance.

Party City went live the first phase of its TradeBeyond implementation in early September 2023, around the same time it was working through the Chapter 11 process to deal with debt it had incurred following several years of macroeconomic and supply chain challenges.

Previously, the party retailer handled most of its supply chain processes manually with emails and Excel. Now with TradeBeyond, the company can streamline vendor onboarding and purchase order management, while introducing critical path management tools and functionalities like e-signature and Work-in-Progress (WIP) tracking. Party City plans to roll out additional capabilities over the coming months.

“With TradeBeyond, we finally have one system to manage all data,” said Lorne Cytrynbaum, Director of Sourcing and Product Operations at Party City in a statement. “In an era that demands agility and efficiency, TradeBeyond’s comprehensive suite eliminates redundancies and ensures smooth collaboration and communication between all stakeholders. We now have the foundation to continue to significantly optimize all of our supply chain operations.
