Wayfair Sets Sights on Florida Mall for Latest Brick-and-Mortar Store

Published: April 7, 2026

Furniture retailer Wayfair will open a two-level, 94,000-square-foot store at Galleria Fort Lauderdale, serving as an anchor for the shopping center’s ongoing comprehensive redevelopment. The new store, which will be Wayfair’s sixth brick-and-mortar location, is slated to open in late 2027.

“As we continue to grow our retail footprint, entering Florida with a namesake store is an exciting new step for Wayfair,” said Liza Lefkowski, VP of Merchandising and Stores at Wayfair in a statement. “Galleria Fort Lauderdale’s transformation creates an ideal setting for us to introduce our in-store experience to a new community of customers.”

Wayfair’s physical locations have provided a boost for the retailer’s sales, both in-store and online. “These stores feel more special than a typical home store — they’re a fun environment,” said Niraj Shah, CEO and Co-Chair of Wayfair, speaking last month at a Shoptalk presentation, He shared results from Wayfair’s Chicago-area store in Wilmette, Ill., which opened in May 2024: “We’ve found that 50% of store customers are new to the brand, and we’ve also seen a halo throughout Illinois — a 15% increase in all sales, online as well as in-store.”

The Ft. Lauderdale store, to be located as an anchor at the end of the mall, will feature Wayfair’s assortment across key home categories as well as Wayfair Verified products, curated by the company’s experts and associates. Like the Wayfair stores in Atlanta and Chicago, the new store will reflect the local community, with products and design inspiration aligning with the region’s indoor-outdoor living, coastal aesthetic and year-round entertaining.

In November 2025 Wayfair announced plans for a smaller-format store, a 70,000-square-foot location in Columbus, Ohio slated to open in late 2026. Wayfair already has opened large-format stores in Wilmette and Atlanta; a Denver store is scheduled to open this year and a Westchester, N.Y. site is slated for a 2027 opening.
