To help retailers, banks and processors in their efforts to integrate new payment technologies with current systems, ACI Worldwide, a payment systems provider, has announced the ACI Universal Payments Platform.

The ACI Universal Payments Platform is designed to facilitate payment processing for different payment types, channels, currencies and networks, according to ACI.

ACI has reported that specific characteristics of the Universal Payments Platform will help:

• Speed connections to networks, devices and systems;

• Accelerate time-to-market with new market initiatives and regulations;

• Enable new payments processing initiatives;

• Leverage existing payments infrastructure with a SOA-based approach; and

• Eliminate processing silos in order to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

The Universal Payments Platform is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Payment Application Data Security Standard (PCI PA-DSS) compliant and Payment Services Directive (PSD).
