Located in the heart of Bangkok, the Central Food Hall Ladprao has unveiled a new design that is a high-end fusion between a food hall and a supermarket. Central Food Retail Company, the largest grocery chain in Thailand, collaborated with Interstore | Schweitzer to redesign the sprawling 47,000-square-foot space as a one-of-a-kind shopping experience with a vast assortment of international and Thai delicacies.
The scope of the new concept included architecture, layout, design and in-store communication, including the development of a series of independent brands with their own corresponding corporate identities. Special focus was placed on fresh food departments fitting seamlessly together in the overall concept.
The new Central Food Hall Ladprao’s individual departments span 12 zones and range from an Austrian baker and a German butcher to French cheese and wine experts, all emphasizing superior service. In most departments, the specialists are available to assist customers next to or in front of the counters.
The Central Eatery is located in the middle of the fresh food departments, boasting open show kitchens that serve as a meeting point for foodies.
Additionally, Central Food Hall Ladprao offers a customer assistant robot called “Nong Sukjai” to assist with the Thai Chana check-in, take shoppers to various zones and recommend special promotions or contact human staff when needed. The food hall also features Smart Product Sampling Robots, a Welcome Lady and Product Ambassador that are ready to answer questions and help recommend products.
