NRF 2025 Preview: New York’s Javits Center Once Again Becomes the Center of the Retail Universe

NRF 2025: Retail’s Big Show will return to New York City’s Javits Center January 12-14, with attendees from all over the globe converging on the Big Apple to visit the more than 1,000 exhibitors and attend the 175 sessions, starting with AI and continuing through the entire retail alphabet. Last year’s show drew approximately 40,000 attendees.

High-profile speakers at the 2025 event will include:

  • Tracee Ellis Ross, Founder, Pattern Beauty;
  • Pete Nordstrom, President, Nordstrom;
  • Joshua Schulman, CEO, Burberry;
  • John Furner, NRF Chairman and Walmart U.S. President; and
  • Brian Cornell, CEO, Target.

Additionally, the agenda is packed with leaders of major brands, including Best Buy, The Home Depot, Bluemercury, Foot Locker, Ikea, Rent the Runway, Claire’s, Lululemon, Sephora and many more sharing their insights into the key challenges and biggest opportunities in retail for the coming year.

Innovation on Display

The event will showcase up-and-coming technology at the NRF Innovation Lab, and NRF will introduce the NRF 2025 Innovators to showcase what’s new. Additionally, the NRF Startup Hub will feature nearly 90 companies operating at the “bleeding edge” of retail tech development. Located inside the Startup Hub will be the Women in Retail Oasis, an exclusive environment to reconnect and recharge.

The 2025 show also will see the return of the Foodservice Innovation Zone, featuring more than 50 food tech-focused exhibitors along with immersive activations focusing on new customer experiences in convenience store, autonomous retail and full-service restaurants.

Retail Media Featured in Preshow Event

Prior to the show’s official opening, NRF and Stratacache will present a deep dive into retail media networks (RMNs), one of the hottest topics in the industry over the past several years. The program — featuring speakers from Albertsons, Publicis Sapient and the IAB, as well as Retail TouchPoints’ own Alicia Esposito — will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers.

Also prior to the official show opening, on Friday, Jan. 10 Vendors in Partnership will present its VIP Awards at a dinner ceremony at Gotham Hall beginning at 6 p.m.

Things really kick off on Sunday, Jan. 12, with the NRF 2025 Opening Party taking place at midtown’s Marriott Marquis Hotel from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Then on the evening of Monday, Jan. 13, musician Flo Rida will take the stage at Terminal 5 for a special concert beginning at 8 p.m. There’s a waitlist where attendees can sign up for tickets if they become available.

Additionally, retail store tours before and during the show will showcase unique NYC-area retail destinations, including the American Dream mall in New Jersey, Fifth Avenue’s luxury shops, the Meatpacking District and the Oculus.
